How I connected ewuta.com to Blogger

I decided to connect ewuta.com domain to Blogger because the .com domain extension is becoming expensive everyday. With the rise of AI and the future of search traffic is still unknown to anyone, I decided to move ewuta.com domain to Blogger.com.

The process of moving it is easy, although it involves some technical process like DNS and CNAME and A Records. Its is a straight forward process that you can easily follow.

1. Preparing the Domain

The ewuta.com domain is registered with Namecheap, if you are using Namecheap you are lucky but if you are using GoDaddy, Google Domains or any other registrar. Its only the user interface that is going to be different but they all go through the same steps.

To begin, you have to login to your Blogger dashboard and your Domain Registrar dashboard.

2. Adding the Custom Domain in Blogger

Login to your blogger dashboard and go to Settings

Scroll down to the Publishing section

Look for Custom domain and click on it.
The page will open up for you to enter your domain, enter your domain name with www. For exampled\ I entered www.ewuta.com instead of ewuta.com and then I clicked on Save.

An error message will appear showing you your DNS, CNAME and A Records to add in your domain registrar website. The error is normal but in my own case the error did not appear and my DNS,CNAME and A Records were no where to be found.

This was because Search Console have verified my domain with my email, so when I enter my domain, it will be added automatically and the DNS, CNAME and A Records will not be displayed.

So, I started running around the internet and I stumbled up on this post from google support page. In the post I was told to follow the instructions below.
  • Select your Domain or URL property (the one for the root domain, without www)
ewuta search console property
  • Scroll down the left sidebar
  • Click on the Settings tab
  • Select Users and permissions
  • Click the three dots next to the email marked as "(you)" (More actions on the right)
search console manage user

  • Select Ownership verification details
  • Copy your Domain name provider details
  • Add that unique CNAME record (DNS settings at your domain provider)
  • Wait for15-60 minutes
  • then go to your dashboard at https://www.blogger.com
You have to login to your domain registrar website and locate your domain list section or the domain name that you want to connect to blogger.

Select the domain and click on manage, if you are using namecheap, you have to set the nameservers to Namecheap Basic DNS before you can be able to edit the CNAMES and A Records.

Change namecheap nameserver to basic

After that you can now head over to to the advanced DNS setting section

So, in the advanced DNS page, I removed every CNAME and A Records and I entered a new CNAME: www and the target is ghs.google.com the final option was set to automatic. I also added the 4 google IP address. you can se the image of how everything looks below.

Then I saved the settings, and waited after sometimes and then I went back to my blogger dashboard and enabled the HTTPS and the Redirect option.

enable blogger https and redirect

After 10 minutes everything started working and the ewuta.com domain was connected to blogger.
